Real White Power

Racial issues have been at the forefront of my mind, for reasons that deserve another blog-post. I've been watching a documentary about the KKK and it sure has been interesting. Note, I've marked the location to indicate how far removed my mind should be from these fears, but they prevail. It's a new phenomenon, but like I said, next blog :)

From the doc I watched, the things that struck me (quotes and concepts):

White Supremacy Rally attendee: "My parents didn't teach me to hate, it just something I learnt, and it stuck with me. I hate anyone that isn't of the pure white race. I hate all spics, niggers and jews" [*speechless* I don't know why, but statements like that always leave me completely bewildered. I can't quite fathom a baseless, faultless, blanket sentiment of pure hatred based on physical characteristics. Unless you're talking about bald people. I mean, EW.]

Imperial Knight's of America (IKA) member (Re: an innocent African-American man getting beat up by KKK members) "Would I do that? No. If I was there, would I have stopped them? Probably not. Do I feel for the guy who got beat up? No, I don't. I feel for the white girl who got raped and beat, that's who I feel for. It's not about being white... if a white guy got eaten up by a tiger in Africa, would I care? No. Our children, that's who I feel for." [ummm WTF?]

Is this ish still around?
- Yes, it is but the numbers have dwindled substantially since their heydays in the '20s. [Yes, that we knew]
- Smaller racist groups are more difficult to deal with, because they're harder to infiltrate and expose. [Mind. Blown. Had never thought about it like that.]

Caucasian woman (Re: Neo-Nazi White Supremacy Rally in her town) "They can hate if they want, that's their problem, but not here. Don't bring your despicable acts and deplorable conduct into my home, into my backyard, I'm not alright with that. I don't have a problem with free speech, but I don't want that sort of hate in my hometown, they need to get out of here." [Now that's what I call Real White Power.]

Pakistan: Terrorist Nation ^ Max

We need to stop funding the very terrorist activities that our troops are sacrificing their lives to combat.

Just over the past couple days, we witnessed yet another kidnapping of a development expert by Al-Qaeda, as claimed by leader Ayman al-Zawahri. Can someone please translate for these people: THE US. DOES. NOT. NEGOTIATE. WITH. MAWFQIN. TERRORISTS.

Let me know which part of that you have trouble with, and I'll translate it for your turban-wearing dumb-fuck ass.

Still too pissed off re: the NATO strikes last weekend, Pakistan has refused to attend the international Peace Conference in Germany next week and also advised Pakistani troops that no longer need authorization to fire at NATO forces.

After the recent uproar by Pakistan re: all the "secret" CIA operations over there, it dawned upon me why Obama pulled ground troops but increased the defense budget. I was really mad about that. Because he was expanding the drone operations? That makes sense, actually. Smart move, my man. You are redeeming yourself in my eyes. I totes get not wanting to piss off a crazy Islamic country with nukes... Bush got us in a FUCKED up position, where we need to keep feeding the rabid dog, or it's going to bite us in the ass.

Still, I don't know why the $$ we give Pakistan is on the rise! Enough already! Check out this table from the "Pakistan: U.S. Foreign Assistance" by the Congressional Research Service dated July 11, 2011.

That is CRAZY. We've given them $20b over the last decade, and we want to give them $3b MORE next year? I'm sorry. That is just CRAZY. You better not pull that shit during an election year, Mr. O. Not like I'm going to vote for you anyway, but still. Not prudent.
